“What is the difference between Specific and Standard Chiropractic?”

Although some people have found a Chiropractor early in life, gotten the results they wanted, and stayed with them for life, others have traveled around and been exposed to many different forms of Chiropractic. Atlas Chiropractic, in Northwest Phoenix, practices a very SPECIFIC form of Chiropractic. Today’s blog is going to focus on some of those differences. Dr. Fred Schofield, at Atlas Chiropractic, has been practicing SPECIFIC Chiropractic for over 30 years. While he was attending Palmer College of Chiropractic, in Davenport, Iowa, he was lucky enough to train with the masters in the profession that helped him to develop an understanding of the philosophy, science, and art of Chiropractic.

“How Do My Symptoms Affect My SPECIFIC Chiropractic Care?”

Many times, the patient enters the office with a specific complaint in mind. Dr. Fred will take a detailed history and perform a thorough consultation, in order to make sure he understands your complaint, any limitations you have, and your goal for better health. The long term goal will be to remove as many limitations as possible to improve your quality of life.

Then, a SPECIFIC exam, and Precision X-Rays will be performed to determine your level and location of SUBLUXATION. A 3 dimensional X-Ray is performed of the top bone in the neck, or ATLAS, which allows Dr. Fred to measure the exact degree and direction of misalignment. The misalignment is then correlated with your symptoms, exam, neurological leg check, and functional leg check. These will determine the location and direction of your ADJUSTMENT.

“What Does Corrective and Results Based Mean?”

“Corrective and Results Based,” means Dr. Fred will use objective tests, such as improved X-Ray findings, leg check, and posture, to confirm your body is getting better. He will also monitor your functional goals. For example, if your initial goals were to play golf, carry your grandchildren, and to run again; as your body balance improves he will monitor if your personal goals have been met.
